| The Good Old Days |
[Apr. 18th, 2007|12:41 pm] |
I hated Skins but now I am excited about it. I think I just don't like tv shows when everyone else likes them.
I have had vouchers for the Filmhouse since Christmas but have never got round to using them. When I remembered and wanted to use them, there was nothing on. I looked last night and there are 4 films/events I really want to go to, my vouchers will make a dent on them I suppose.

I got an interview with ECA, I'm very happy to get this far, this was what I have been wanting to do for over 2 years (when I discovered the course and had to tell Stirling that they would not be granted with my presence any more). I had worked hard to get accepted to the Universities that I did, but I didn't know which ones were best and which ones would suit me. I accepted Stirling but quickly found out that it was a lot of theory and not a lot of cool. As the time rolled on, I regreted it more and eventually sent them a letter saying I would not be attending. I panicked for a while and emailed the ECA asking how do I get on their sought-after course-- They told me to goto Telford, pick up the craft, become a storyteller and get back to them.

A few people have helped me out along the way and my application was looked at, three questions were sent me and now that I have answered I have an interview. I'm still not getting my hopes up because I will be slightly crushed if I don't get in. I'll let you know anyhow.

You should be grateful, Livejournal, this post was exclusively for you.
Go to my site if you know what's good for you. |

[Aug. 11th, 2006|04:53 pm] |

Ahhh, I've posted all my second-week of Italy stuff at MY SITE. So go there now and hear what I have to say.
It's kinda like I've turned my LJ into a place to advertise my proper site, but I love friends pages, so have at it. |

Hello Livejournal! Long time and all that.
here are a couple of photos from my recent jaunt to Barcelona and there's a lot more where that came from but they're all on my proper site.
Come on over because I'm not likely to post THAT often here and I'm bored because my gal and my family have gone to different countries for weeks.

Is it good or bad that it is

I nearly typed the subject of this post as another line from the song from the last post. Then I looked a little closer and realised I'd used the song in the post before too. But in the end, I didn't. |

| It was all just a dream, oh no! |

Last night saw Laura's first proper flat party. And it was a halloween one too. Got some good photos (boo!).
Muz and Beki came round beforehand to costume up and watch some Dracula: Dead and Loving it, listen to some Boris Karloff story and apply some fake blood.

I was Donnie Darko (at halloween) which wasn't amazing but the costume shop (which I queued for like half an hour for after queuing the same amount for another costume shop) ran outta ninja gear.
Next halloween party tomorrow night! |

So the Strokes have let two new songs slip.. impressive. The songs, that is.
Hopefully I will have my DV camera working soon so I can throw little films at you. And better photography really. This is because I bought a new charger off Ebay - after mine went MIA in Paris.
I also purchased a cool pair of Converse-Stylay Gola 'basketball sneakers'. People on my course said I look like a Stroke and articles about TGH have said the music and my voice sound like the Strokes and Casablancas.. None of that is very accurate but it's better than being told I/we are any other band really.
But when we start playing our new music to people hopefully that will change. Because we will be new and good.

I'm jogging too. Not right now but I have today and plan to in a few minutes again. Part of my new get-fit idea. I took it from someone I used to know but don't anymore but has found me on Myspace. I haven't excercised in yonkas though, so its tough.
The Arctic Monkeys are good, it's his voice mainly. But they actually have more good songs pre-debut than any other band I can think of.
I know I don't update much but I'm always like doing stuff net-wise. Visit the below for the epicentre or something like that:

| Would you like to come and meet me, maybe? |
[Aug. 23rd, 2005|08:16 pm] |
I know the first faux pas of the intelligent blogger is to apologise for not updating but the second is to update everyday so I have lost the battle already.
Since the last post I have (in no precise order):
# Returned from a great holiday in Paris with Beki where we had some really nice food, visited Disneyland (3 times on Space Mountain: Mission 2, twice on Indiana Jones and twice on Thunder Mountain - once on everything else), stayed in and ate McDonalds all day in our apartment, travelled about the city, nearly missed our flight (13 minutes later and we would have) and a whole lot more.
# Been to Mikey and Lisa's 21st at the Learmonth (and met all their family).

# Played a couple of gigs, started to record some sessions for Jim Black's new radio show, started to think about new material.
# Worked a lot but not managed to wake up for it enough (I love and hate flexi-time).
# Applied for a HND that will get me into 2nd year of an Art School Degree, had the interview and got it (fuck Stirling man!).
# Started getting my letters printed in the Metro!

# Been getting driving lessons and am half-way there, or thereabouts!
# Been staying in a flat with Beki and might be moving into another one..
# Em, Chinos!
# Went to the pub with Monsiour Noir and the guys and had the longest running conversation of good and lame jokes since sliced knives.

# Been going out with Beki for 6 months now.
# Started My-Spazzing all over the place.
And a whole lot more...
Also I have no clue where I will be working, schooling, living and playing in a fortnight which is slightly worrying...
So how have you all been? |

| Hello Goodbye |
[Aug. 9th, 2005|12:21 am] |

Ok I'm about done in Paris, gotta get up in 5 hours to get the train to the airport..
That photo is of my dear little sister dining with Robin Williams of Mrs Doubtfire fame! She's with mmy family thousands of miles away in Canadia city.
We've been to Disney and ate dinner at nice places that charged lots and lots..
You've probably already heard but we have 3 or 4 pretty impressive gigs coming up (cancer benefit next week, love music beat racism, TigerFestival, supporting Raising Kain...), check out at:
Official Site
or, more reliably:
Myspace (Jason t'Hedges updates etc..) |

| I'm Going Missing For a While.. |
[Jul. 29th, 2005|06:55 pm] |

Ok, not been taking many pictures recently, nicked that one from our MySpace comments..
Been a pretty hectic month, loadsa gigs and whatnot. It's been fun and we've learned a hell of a lot.. Like the good and the bad venues, the bad and the great bands (big red and St Jude's respectively, for starters) and we've had some mighty funny experences...
We are taking it a bit easier now, with my holiday and Jason going down to NME and we will write our best songs yet too.
We won't be playing again until TigerFest and supporting Alan McGee wunderkidz Raising Kain which will both be jamazin.
I'll try to update this more but for the next week my house is empty except for myself and next week I'll be in Paris!

This is the happs in Barca:-
* Steve and Mikey hit the beach but I stayed in bed longer.
* We went out to the Indian again but this time we knew what rice was so ordered buckets of it.
* I've been using factor 2 bronzing stuff and it really helps you get burnt.
* We went out to Irish Winds and Jess was there again and we met this bloke from Sky tv and got chatting to him for ages.
* Went to Star Winds and were there til the early hours again and on the way home we tried to buy beers and the guy didnt like Mikey (like the Swiss) so charged him 1.50 and me only 1..
* Was out on the bridge when these Geordie guys were comparing their muscles then threw a couple of them off the bridge into the harbour (they took about 20mins to get back on land). Then one of them nudged this Asian guy and there was nearly this big bridge brawl.
* We have decided to start advertising for Chinos. There are many styles of Chino in Barcelona, the main ones are:
Chino Classic - The original and best
Chino Sport
Chino Fast (ex Go-Fasters) - Stripe down leg
Chino Lite - Half length (shorts)
Jinos - "I like my jeans but I also like my Chinos" get youurself some Jinos
Chino Combat - Specifically built for the army but now commercially available
Chino Plus - Two back pockets for extra storage
Chino Adventure - Two pockets plus an extra one on the side which zip off into Chino Lites.
Chino Lite Plus - Three quarter lengths with two back pockets.
Chino Fun - The coolness in Chinos in an amzing 4 different clours! For the cool kids (not appropriate for schoolwear)
Chino Street - Writing down the leg and extra bagginess for the up-to-date hip street look
My First Chino - Now available for toddlers!
Chino Noirs - The limited edition black chinos
Chino Piscine - For underwater use! No, it is no use
Chino Sheen - The brightest white imaginable is now available in this limited edition chino, guaranteed to get the gals attention.
Ok that's me for now we're off to meet Songstore tonight (that band we played with a couple of weeks back with St Jude's).
